I really love seeing how much “Us” couples put into their weddings, and Ellie & Charles’ day at Whirlow Hall Farm ticked that box in a big way.

In fact the “Us” started at the wedding ceremony itself at Bride Ellie’s childhood Church, Holy Trinity, Millhouses, where her Mum was Musical Director before becoming Ordained. This also meant more than a few clergy were present, and their ceremony being conducted by close family friend Revd. Dr Angie Lauener. This gave a very personal and emotional edge to the ceremony where a few happy tears were shed alongside some brilliant laughs and smiles.

It was then a short drive to Whirlow Hall Farm for relaxed arrival drinks in the gardens, and to the reception in the wild flower and fairy light adorned barn, where the wall of crisps and dinosaur colouring kept guests smiling. Meanwhile the table football and post BBQ Wedding Breakfast quiz brought out the competitive streak in family and friends alike. The outdoorsy, wildlife and alternative theme continued with the Aunty- made Wedding Cake and the Bride’s white Cowboy Boots.

A quick stroll through the Vineyard with the happy couple was followed by the evening stepping into high gear with a Ceilidh. High kicks and some serious spins brought smiles as all the guests joined in and I was doing the same just trying to dodge them!
